Spraying for Mosquitoes on the Trail

nature trailsWhen spring and summertime come around, there is no end to the fun you can have in the great outdoors. However, mosquitoes also choose this time of the year to both have a fantastic time and breed. They swarm in hot pursuit of a mate and a person to satisfy their many needs for survival. This is why spraying for mosquitoes on the trail is a very big deal for everyone who has anything to do with “nature”. This is especially true for local parks and other public walking trails.

Prevention is the Best Defense

mosquito swarmBattling mosquitoes is a never-ending job. A person can spray harmful chemicals on themselves and still suffer through bite after bite from the little “vampires”. This does not make people want to come out and play. It makes them want to stay inside where bites cannot occur. In parks or other places that are designed for humans to venture into nature, this poses a major problem unless pest prevention is part of the routine of running it.

Why Prevention is Required

By preventing mosquitoes from breeding or thriving in one particular area, local parks and municipalities will spray along trails so that people will actually want to be there. It is the only guaranteed way to prevent a swarm from forming. Visitors may still find a few mosquitoes along the trail. There is no absolute way to eliminate all of them. Having fewer will help some.
One of the easiest ways to do this is to have someone in charge of the park or trail to use mosquito killer spray along the trails. Apply it in areas where people will be, at the start of mosquito season. If there is a lot of heavy brush or water nearby, the spray can be applied several times. It will not cause harm to plants or anything of that nature. The spray will just simply stop bugs from taking over a world that should be run by humans.

Bringing People Back to Nature

parksOne of the main reasons people stay indoors rather than out in nature is the fact that they want to avoid getting nasty bites from insects that can spread diseases. Fear keeps them inside, where bugs are “prevented”. If more parks and trails and other areas would put more effort into prevention, more people would come out of hiding. This could lead to a world where everyone is more active and healthy, which makes it a win-win situation for everyone. It is also a lot more fun than hiding in a home as well. As a long term goal, it may also help us to gain better control over the mosquitoes that are currently running the world. What could possibly be the downside of that?
